Location
Fiji is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, about two-thirds of the way from Hawaii to New Zealand. It is comprised of 332 islands, of which approximately 110 are inhabited. Garden Island Resort is located on the island of Taveuni, Fiji’s third largest island. The lush island is about 26 miles (42 kilometers) long and 10 miles (16 kilometers) wide. With a population of 12,000 inhabitants, Taveuni is sparsely populated.

Accommodation
Garden Island Resort’s 28 oceanfront rooms are right on the water’s edge giving you lovely views over the strait and the nearby islands. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and feature either a private patio or balcony. Each room is air-conditioned and has one queen-size bed and one single bed, and is equipped with shower and bath, refrigerator, telephone and coffee/tea making facilities. In addition, there are two fan-cooled dorm rooms with four beds each.

Dining & Entertainment
The Drodrolagi restaurant features fine local and international cuisine with fresh local seafood, produce, meats and poultry. Menu also offers at least one vegetarian entree at each meal. The restaurant overlooks the pool and the Somosomo Strait and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Tagimoucia bar is open from midday until late and is well-stocked offering a wide range of soft drinks, alcoholic beverages and cocktails. Nightly local acoustic entertainment is provided by the Garden Island Resort Band.

Diving
Aqua-Trek Taveuni at Garden Island Resort is the first Gold Palm Resort to be awarded by PADI Australia in the region. This award recognizes PADI International Resort Association members that present a professional image, and demonstrate excellence in customer satisfaction, dive experiences, education, safety and environmental awareness.

Fed by the nutrient-rich waters that flow through the Somosomo Strait, Taveuni’s Rainbow Reef is home to one of the world’s greatest displays of soft coral. The dive shop offers daily dive excursions to the Rainbow Reef and a full range of PADI dive courses. Nitrox is availabe. All dive sites are nearby, and custom 30-feet dive vessels will whisk you away to the famous dive sites such as Great White Wall, The Ledge, Annie’s Bommie, Blue Ribbon Eel Reef and much more.

Weddings
Garden Island Resort staff always enjoys making your wedding, anniversary or honeymoon extra special. Wedding couples can enjoy an ocean sunset ceremony under a cascading flower arch by the pool, followed by music and a celebration with Fijians and other guests afterwards.
